Flow of Funds

Truemed is an “Additional Payment Method” and operates independently from Shop Pay. When a customer selects Truemed at checkout, Truemed processes the payment and sends payouts (less Truemed’s fees) to the bank account you link through a Stripe Express account that is created during onboarding. Payouts are issued in batches on a rolling two-day basis. Refunds are also processed through this same linked Stripe account.

Orders will appear in Shopify as soon as they’re placed, and the Shopify Financial Status on each order provides additional insight into its current payment and fulfillment state.

Typical Payment Flow

1. Payment Pending

Initial status after an order is placed. This means the health survey is currently under review.

Payment is not captured at this stage, but the customer card does have an authorization held on it.

2. Authorized

LMN has been issued. If you are using “automatic capture” the payment will capture automatically.

3. Paid

Payment has been successfully completed. The order is now ready to fulfill.
